MacArthur boys baseball begins with a victory

Defeating Spurgeon Intermediate 28-0, the boys baseball team began the season successfully.

MacArthur’s boy baseball season began March 11 with a game against Spurgeon Intermediate.  The boys won 28-0 beginning the season where last season ended: resounding victory.  The new coach is Program Leader Anthony Estis.  He has coached for three years.

The boys have practice Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  All games will be played at Valley High School in Santa Ana.  The boys baseball team will play for 10 weeks.

“There’s 16 boys on the team and they are all pretty good, so the boys don’t need a lot of work,” said Estis.

“I’ve been playing playing baseball for 8 years, and this is my second year playing at the school,” said eighth-grader Adam Ibarra.  Adam’s positions are short and second base.

Jacob Noriega, eighth grader, has also played at the school for two years, and his position is center field.  “I love to play baseball because it is a sport I really like to compete with my friends/teammates and also baseball brings out the best of my ability and personality. God Bless Baseball,” said Jacob

“I enjoy baseball because it is a fun experience that allows you to expand your knowledge and how quickly you have to think, and it is a very fun hobby,” said  eighth-grader David Cardenas.

Last year the MacArthur boys won the championship for Santa Ana School District boys baseball.
