On November 17, 2025, the Boardriders club released its merchandise order form with a variety of order options. Students and staff could buy a zip hoodie, a regular hoodie, a long-sleeve t-shirt, and a short sleeve t-shirt in most primary colors, with variants and sizes up to XX-large. A zip hoodie was $35, a regular hoodie was $30, a long-sleeve shirt was $20, and a t-shirt was $15.
Regarding the merchandise, eighth-grader Galvin S. said, “I think it looks way better, easy to style, and way more colors.”
Math teacher Ms. Holly Kotler also put in an order for Boardriders mechandise. She said, “It’s gotten a lot better over the years. Boardriders is unique because it changes every year, and it’s specific to that club, which I like to support, or it’s just the school’s gear is good, but a lot of people have it.”
The Boardriders Club has been ongoing since 1998, founded by P.E. Teacher Mr. Patrick Evans and meets in the fitness room on Thursdays at lunch. Evans said, “When I first started here, you had to host a club, but the principal at the time said What club are you gonna do and I said Skateboarding and she said No and then I talked her into it.”
At the weekly meetings, students learn and practice skateboarding tricks. There is an ongoing challenge that whoever can land three perfect kick flips could get a skateboard deck.
At MacArthur, other clubs include the Pawsitivity, Mural, Rock-Climbing, Garden, Dungeons and Dragons, Pentathlon, CJSF, and the Explorers Club. Many clubs choose to sell merchandise as a fundraiser and to raise awareness for the organization..
